Couples! Couples everywhere!
Come 2017, we finally resolved the issue by a mutual agreement that we should watch it once and for all (LOL). So by the first week of January, we headed to Makati. Unfortunately though, since there was a storm brewing in, the show was cancelled. Devastated and hungry, we decided to eat at a nearby convenience store before heading home.
Since Jem really wanted to watch this light show, we agreed to head to Makati again by the following week. On a weekday. Right after I got out of work. He was so hesitant that I finally gave in.
We rode MRT from Kamuning station so to arrive early in Ayala. Because we don't have that much money, Jem brought food with him, complete with Dessert. We arrived in Ayala Triangle by some time after 7PM and was able to settle on a spot where we could observe the whole show.
And then it began...
Ayala's Festival of Lights started on November 15 last year and lasted until January 8, 2017. For 2016, the festival presented three themes namely, Christmas Fiesta, Classic and Epic Christmas, and Sweet and Magical Christmas. It runs daily every 30 minutes from 6PM to 10PM.
Ayala Lands had been conducting this festival for the past 6 years and it definitely piqued the interest of ManileƱos. Every year, couples, families, and barkadas had been flocking Ayala Triangle to watch the spectacular display of lights.
Ayala Triangle is located along Paseo de Roxas, Makati Avenue, and Ayala Avenue. It's definitely hard to miss due to its sheer size. It's also one of the bus stops along Ayala Ave.
If you'll be coming from MRT Ayala Station, you'll be needing to walk along the stretch of malls until you reach the exit of Greenbelt 1 along Paseo de Roxas. And then walk along Paseo until you reach Ayala Ave. You'll simply be crossing Ayala's underground tunnel and you're there :)
Here are some of the picture we took during our stay:
Told you we brought food HAHA
We probably watched all three shows 2 times so yep, we stayed for quite some time.
Just a precaution though, parts of the light show can cause some seizure for people with some type of condition. But worry not since warnings are being announced even before the light show begins.
Definitely, Ayala's Festival of Lights is a not to miss event every Holiday Season!
