Yexel's Toy Museum

Since I'm (once again) being pressed to post some outdated activities we experienced for the past weeks of the year, I'll be posting quite some stuff for the following days (hopefully, I wouldn't break this promise I made AGAIN).

Like always, I've been bugging Jem to visit another place here in the Metro and when we saw this awesome deal in Metrodeal, I immediately bought it and asked him to set a date that is most convenient for him. So when he confirmed that we'll be going on January 21 (conveniently, our 3rd anniversary yihee), we searched for the easiest commute route we could take to get to Yexel's Toy Museum.

Yexel's Toy Musuem in Ocean Park is just a brach. Their main museum is located in Las PiƱas but since we wanted to save as much money as we can, we decided to check out this place instead.

Getting to Manila Ocean Park without a private vehicle is quite hard (srsly). So since we came from Cubao, we rode the LRT (Purple Line) until Recto Station. From there, we transferred to LRT 1 (Yellow Line) and got down at United Nations Station.

We decided to eat our lunch first at the nearest carinderia located just below LRT. After that, we walked along Luneta Park and crossed Roxas Blvd. THEN walked along Quirino Grand Stand until we reached Manila Ocean Park. Yep, it takes a lot of patience and perseverance if you're both a cheapskate HAHAHUHU.

Since we bought our tickets in Metrodeal, we still had to exchange it for the regular one, so we fell in line along with everybody else. However, keep your ears open since lines for Yexel Toy Museum are usually separated and definitely much shorter! Jem found out about this when we heard a couple in front of us talking about it hehe.

We proceeded on entering the building after that and headed to the second floor where the museum was located.

The place was not that big and you only have to follow one way to get to see all the exhibits. Just a reminder that this place is probably more for photoshoot sessions and not for strolling and looking/admiring the exhibits. PRO TIP: ARRIVE EARLY, PLEASE. You definitely wouldn't enjoy your stay if you arrive by lunch time since there are NUMEROUS people inside that the aircon sometimes couldn't keep up.

Upon entering, the first displays you'll see are the Shell solar-powered cars and Minions (lots of them).

The next exhibit is their very famous Spiderman-themed rooms. These are ones you usually see on the internet; two exhibits which creates an illusion on perspective. We didn't get to take a picture of this place because this is where people flock to take their IG-worthy or FB-worthy shots.

Anyway, here are the rooms as sample (ctto):

After passing these two, you'll be greeted by the picturesque view of the Manila Bay. On this area, displays from the legendary (for me) movies and books Lord of the Rings can be seen.

One does not simply walk into Mordor v2.0

This is probably my favorite spot inside the museum because of the view it offers. Anyway, after this area, you'll be entering a curtained place where other paraphernalia from Lord of the Rings are displayed (my personal favorite exhibit!!!).

There are stuff displayed along with their authentication papers so you really get to feel the  dedication Yexel had put to obtain these items.

The next display is for the book and TV series, Game of Thrones. Though the only remarkable display here is the Iron Throne, I hope they'll be adding more soon :)

The next area is dedicated to our all time favorite movies (as a couple), STAR WARS! *queue Darth Vader's music*

After this display, you'll be passing through another arc and their last and definitely their awesome-st display will welcome you, Tony Stark's Ironman Collection.

And that's it! The museum ends with a souvenir shop where you can buy branded and generic toys alike.
So here are other parting words:
Yexel's Toy Museum located in Ocean Park has a very pricey regular price which definitely does not give justice to what you'll see inside. If you're planning on visiting this place, I highly suggest that you check out deals online.
Like I said above, arrive early. And if you go here wanting to take some awesome shots, take it immediately once you enter and the place is not yet jam packed. We made a mistake by checking out all the exhibits first before returning to the start to actually take pictures.
Have lots, and I mean lots, of patience. Like many places, you'll encounter many inconsiderate people. So expect that you'll either be rushing to take your pictures or have some stranger be taken on your frame of shot.
We ended our tour after 1 and a half hour (?) since there are just too many people that you wouldn't want to stay. But still, the place is cool what with all the life sized displays. So if you have time, this place is definitely one you can go and check out!
