A Day at Resorts World Sentosa

For the 2nd day of our stay in Singapore, we decided that we'll just spend it mostly inside Sentosa. Along with the plane tickets and the hotel accommodations, the raffle also included a free pass to three of Resorts World's attractions; Adventure Cove, S.E.A. Aquarium, and of course, Universal Studios!

We woke up at around 7 in the morning to eat our breakfast. We bought food from VivoCity's market the night before in order to save up TIP: buy food/snack inside supermarkets since there are really nice deals.

Since almost all the attractions inside Sentosa operates at 10 in the morning, we bummed inside the hotel instead. By quarter to 10, we headed out.

Since the nearest attraction to our hotel was the S.E.A. Aquarium, we decided to head there immediately. I presented the coupon to one of the counters located just outside the building and waited for our tickets.

I waited for not more than 5 minutes until my attention was once again called by the attendant. She explained the validity of the ticket and pointed the way to the entrance of the S.E.A. Aquarium. BTW, the standard rate for entering the said aquarium is S$(search internet).

We were led to the escalator going downstairs by the very attentive crew of the aquarium. I saw that food and beverages are not allowed inside the place but I guess because of the number of visitors that day, they weren't able to follow this strictly. We simply presented our tickets and entered without our stuff being checked :)

The first exhibit was a big aquarium with a wrecked ship inside. There were scuba divers inside the tank because it was time to feed the fishies.

There were fishes who attempted to enter their feeder's bucket which was funny to look at. There was also an instant where one of the divers hand fed one of the fishes.

Moving forward, you'll be greeted by the next tank filled with sharks!

The tank houses many different species of sharks. Ranging from our very own blacktip reef shark and hammerheads! Then, you'll be continuing your tour after passing through the tunneled aquarium.

Inside, there were many different tanks housing different species of fishes and even arthropods. The tanks were categorized based on the original places the fishes are located.

One of the highlights of the place was their biggest tank which houses the manta rays and stingrays. According to one poster, the tank's measurement equates to 6 double-decker buses!

We got out of S.E.A. Aquarium sometime around quarter to 12 in the afternoon. Before proceeding to Universal Studios, we decided to eat our lunch at the Malaysian Food Street again (since it's the cheapest!).

After that, we were off to #USS!!!

Similar to the previous attraction, outside food and beverages are not allowed inside. However they weren't that strict when we entered so we were able to bring along our bottled waters.

The Universal Studios Sentosa is divided to 7 areas. Just imagine how the Enchanted Kingdom of Laguna is like; the USS' setup is similar to that. The areas are: (1) Hollywood, from right (2) New York, (3) Sci-Fi City, (4) Ancient Egypt, (5) The Lost World, (6) Far Far Away, and (7) Madagascar.

The map might seem to be too big but trust me, you can go around USS in just half a day! The only time consuming thing you'll be doing is when you line up for rides though.

We decided on going around USS via Hollywood then proceeding on to New York and the rest on that direction. Of course because of how it has been set up, kodakan moments will not be missed!

Most of the stores can be found in Hollywood for souvenirs and all. There are also restaurants tucked in between the buildings :)

Moving on, we headed to New York!

There will be restaurants in every area in USS and this 70's diner here is the located in New York.

We were hearing a boy band type of song playing on the background and we weren't expecting it to be a live performance by these gorgeous (yes, they were) men! :">

There are two main attractions here in New York and these are the Spaghetti Space Chase of Sesame Street and the Lights Camera Action of the world renowned director, Steven Spielberg!

I highly recommend that you visit this Steven Spielberg attraction especially if you're interested in movie productions!

After that we headed to Sci-Fi City where the popular Transformer ride can be seen!

Unfortunately we weren't able to ride this one (ONE OF MY BIGGEST REGRET IN LIFE) because the lines were too long that the waiting time would be one complete hour.

Aside from the famous Transformer ride, their largest roller coaster can also be found here; the Battle Star Galactica!

The ride was some sort of versus type of roller coaster, meaning there are two complete different tracks which are running simultaneously. The red one is called Human which is your typical roller coaster with big dips and twists and turns, while the gray one is called Cyclon which is the same but is inverted (chairs are hanging on the rails).

>>>I was also not able to ride this one because of (1) line was too long, (2) it was raining, and (3) no one wanted to come and join me #sadlayf<<<

After that, we proceeded to the Ancient Egypt!

Because I certainly don't want to miss another opportunity of riding one famous attraction, I immediately told my mom that I'll be riding Revenge of the Mummy (thankfully, one of my aunt joined me hehe).

Another ride I highly recommend! It's sort of a horror-train-slash-roller-coaster-ride. You'll be following this story of Imhotep (if you've seen the movie, I think you're already familiar who he is) and steal back the Book of Life from his evil hands. It's not your typical roller coaster cause this one rotates, suddenly stops as well as accelerates, and moves backwards! We laughed at the picture that was taken during the ride because my aunt had a mukasim face! :)))

Oh, there's actually ride here (for kids) which I was not able to take look at but it's behind that row of Anubis-esque statue, called Treasure Hunters. You basically sit on a car and drive around a small lake.

The next area following the Ancient Egypt was The Lost World or you know, Jurassic Park.

I wasn't able to take pictures in this area because it suddenly started raining hard!

Anyway, there are two attractions here mainly, Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure which is similar to Rio Grande (so expect to get wet!) and Canopy Flyer which is a sort-of inverted roller coaster.

There are also other attractions here like the Dino-Soarin’ and the Amber Rock Climb, which are relatively small rides/attraction.

The next place to visit was the land of Shrek and Fiona, Far Far Away!!!

If you're a fan of Shrek, you'll definitely be amazed by the live version of some stuff featured on the movie!

There are quite a number of attractions here which are (1) Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey, (2) Shrek 4-D Adventure, (3) Magic Potion Spin, and (4) Enchanted Airways. Most of these are kid friendly rides so the children will definitely enjoy this place!

Aside from those, they also have a comedy show hosted by none other than, Donkey!

I highly recommend that you check this one out!

And the last area of USS would be the Madagascar!

Attractions located here are (1) King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round and (2) A Crate Adventure.

Aside from the rides and other attractions, USS also hold shows which are shown in all theater-esque building inside the amusement park. Also, they conduct parades and fireworks which are scheduled per day! So you can easily lose a complete day without going outside!

Unfortunately, due to the rain and the previous tiredness of my companions, we left USS earlier than planned so I wasn't able to watch the parades and fireworks. Still, we definitely had a great time during our stay! AND I PROMISE THAT I WILL COME BACK!!!

Like what I have previously mentioned, we have access to three attractions of Resorts World, unfortunately, we were not able to check out Adventure Cove (WHICH I PROMISE TO ALSO CHECK OUT WHEN I COME BACK!) so instead of keeping the tickets, we decided to give it to some fellow Filipinos we met while we were shopping for souvenirs! Something you can look forward to on my next post! Where to shop in Singapore!

Aside from the 3 main attractions of RW, they also have parks and other stuff you can check out during your stay. There's the Trick Museum (like the 3D museums that had been getting all the attention here in Manila), their very own Merlion Park, the surrounding beaches, and also the fountains which conducts shows in the evening!

So why not head over RWS this year (or the next, it's not like it's going anywhere!) so you can check these all out yourselves!
