Weekend in Tagaytay (Pt. 1)

I couldn't believe that I was able to tick off one more item from my 2016 bucket list over the past long weekend (October 29-November 1). Since we're all caught up from my super delayed updating of my bucket list this year, this entry is going to be one that had just happened recently.
  • Tagaytay Roadtrip (w/ Jem)
Technically still not a round trip since he was already in Tagaytay by Thursday night and I had to follow him there by Saturday morning on my own, but it still counts! HAHA

So yeah, I wasn't able to take any pictures on the way there because I wanted to catch plenty amount of zzz's while travelling. And also I don't want to look awkward and weird since I'm the only one travelling alone to Tagaytay in the bus.

Anyhoo, getting there was very easy. Since I was coming from Cubao, Quezon City, I simply proceeded to San Agustin bus terminal along EDSA (near P. Tuazon Ave.) and rode a bus bound for Batangas. The trip took long since all of their bus routes use Cavitex, so yeah, the bulk of my travel was being stuck in traffic on Cavite proper.

Upon arriving in Olivarez (the main intersection in Tagaytay), I waited for Jem to pick me up in McDonald's. BTW, we were not alone in this trip, we were with his mom and 2 of her running buddies :) I was informed that we will be staying in Tagaytay Highlands for the weekend and I have never been so excited since they told me that it was all for free!!!

So since Jem's mom was already enjoying the olympic pool in Highlands, she instructed Jem to pick me up alone instead. Of course we took our time to enjoy the scenic views the place has to offer especially since it was my first time being there.

Our agenda for that day was to use their gym and for that we immediately proceeded to their Sports Center. Most of the activities they offer is located inside their Sports Center or around the said area.

Since Jem's mom and her buddies spent the early mornings running around Highlands, they wanted to simply relax for the rest of the day. They told us to do whatever we want and handed our sort-of 'ticket' that we can use for all the facilities they have.

And of course, before heading to the gym, we toured the building first to see what it offers.

Bar and Billiards (they also have Beer Pong that was situated on the other side of the floor - along the veranda)

Bowling Center (they play 90's songs here so the nostalgia really hits hard)

Olympic Pool (they have a very specific rule that this pool should only be used for exercise; but they also have an outdoor pool for recreational purposes - was not able to take a picture #sad)

Game Room (their games ranges from good ol' computer desktops to Xbox, Kinect, Playstations 3 & 4, and board games)

Sports Paraphernalia

The building also houses a covered court for basketball, badminton courts, karaoke booth, and a play room for kids. Right outside the building, they have outdoor volleyball courts, mini golf, fishing area, archery area, horseback riding, ATV, and so, so, so much more!!!

So before night falls, we went to the gym to spend our afternoon playing with their stuff, kidding, of course we worked out THEN played with their stuff HAHA.

Aerobics Area of Gym

When we got back to our room, we were informed that one of our companions will be leaving for Batangas. So instead of chilling for a while, we cleaned ourselves up for dinner and some last minutes picture taking.

Before we accompanied Milo to the bus terminal/road (since most bus bound to Batangas use Tagaytay as their route) we had our dinner on one of the bulalo joints in Tagaytay.

Since this post is already too long, I'll just be cutting it here and post another part! :D

More on our weekend adventure on my next post!
