Get drunk (LOL, easy one)ROAD TRIP!
So last November 14 and 15 (perfectly planned because of payday!), my friends and I decided to head south to Tagaytay. I'm not really sure if I can consider this as a formal road trip since in the first place, we didn't have a car HAHA. But anyway, I guess this will do because we really did enjoy ourselves!!!
First off, we rode a bus to Tagaytay at some random bus station at Buendia-Taft. We're supposed to arrive at the hotel we booked at 1PM, since that's the time I reserved it, but because of the heavy traffic in Cavite proper, we arrived at quarter to 2PM. Which is not that bad considering we started travelling pretty late.
After checking in at Tagaytay Econo Inn, located right in the middle of Tagaytay, we decided to rest for a while before starting our tour.
Random pics taken at our room :)
Sometime at 2:30 PM, we decided to head out and check out the Museo Orlina that can be seen from the window of our room.
There was a very affordable entrance fee and a video presentation before starting the tour. Too bad that the museum was being renovated when we visited so there were areas that we didn't have the chance to access.
Museo Orlina is owned by Ramon G. Orlina, a world renowned Filipino sculpture. We had a tiny background about him since he was the one who designed the Quattromondial Monument at UST.
After the presentation, we were led to the basement where two of his cars were being displayed.
The 1988 Volvo 780 was designed by Mr. Orlina himself while the Volkswagen was painted by Mr. BenCab!
After touring the basement, we decided to look around the sculpture garden :)
Some of the sculptures outside the museum
Proceeding to the interior of the museum, you will be greeted by the different and wonderful glass sculptures of Mr. Orlina. Here are the few of my favorites:
AND of course the model for the Quattromondial Monument!
After enjoying ourselves at the museum, we decided to go to the market to have Tagaytay's famous Bulalo (which I don't eat HAHA).
We found one food house at Olivarez that serves bulalo. And since we were already very hungry, we decided to just eat there instead of looking around for other store.
LATE LUNCH!!!
Once we're done pigging out, we headed out to look around at Olivarez's 'sorta night market'. After tiring ourselves and our wallets out, we decided to go to People's Park. Unfortunately, we were already too late and the tsuper of the jeepney advised us that it was already closed and we should instead just go to Picnic Grove. Which is totally not a bad thing!
Sunset at Picnic Grove ;)
After scaring ourselves at the maze-esque bridge of Picnic Grove, we went back to Olivarez to try out the other food house we saw.
YES, WE LOVE EATING!!!
Dinner was great and we were all so full so we decided to head back to the hotel to spend the rest of the night. Which will be included on Part 2 since this post is already too long!!!
